Vanessa Amezquita Named Tracy Arts Education Coordinator
Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy Cultural Arts division announces that Vanessa Amezquita has joined its staff as Arts Education Coordinator. Ms. Amezquita will oversee curriculum development and all classes to be held at the new Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. The Center, located on Central Avenue in downtown Tracy, is scheduled to open in early fall 2007.
Ms. Amezquita will schedule classes, seminars and workshops and will select and evaluate instructors of all courses at the Center. She will oversee the creation and production of the arts education brochure, working with City staff and community arts organizations that wish to schedule specific seminars. In addition, she will collaborate with Cultural Arts' marketing consultant to publicize all arts education activities.
Ms. Amezquita is a Tracy native who graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Mass Media Communications. She brings broad arts experience to her new position, having choreographed dance competitions, interned at a concert promotions company, worked in the Sacramento Theater Company's costume shop and experienced the world of television production. She comes to Tracy Cultural Arts from a position as online reporter/producer for CW31/CBS13 in Sacramento.
"We are delighted to welcome Vanessa to our staff where she will use her expertise and enthusiasm to enrich the lives of her fellow Tracy residents with first-rate arts education classes and activities," says City of Tracy Arts Program Manager Theresa Yvonne. "Vanessa will be working with our Gallery Supervisor, William Wilson, to offer arts education experiences for every age group and level of talent. The public will be treated to a sampling of them during the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts' Grand Opening weekend in September."
