Tracy Cultural Arts Division Seeks Technical Theater Supervisor
Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy Cultural Arts Division is now accepting applications for the new position of Technical Theater Supervisor (Technical Director) for the Grand Theater Center for the Arts, which will open in downtown Tracy this September. . The 37,000 square foot Center will be an interdisciplinary arts facility containing two theaters, a fine arts gallery and nine studio classrooms.
Principal duties of the Technical Theater Supervisor (Technical Director) will include, but will not be limited to:
- Directing the development of theater technical areas including stage set up, lighting, scenery and audio
- Interacting with clients and solving technical service requirements for a wide variety of events
- Reviewing visiting artists' contracts and making recommendations regarding technical riders as well as negotiating fees or alternate equipment requirements
- Developing and administering the technical theater budget and monitoring expenditures.
Candidates should have a four-year college degree, or the equivalent, preferably with a major in theater arts, technical theater or a related field and a minimum of four years' experience in technical theater, state supervision or theater production. Also necessary are a valid California drivers license and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Monthly compensation for the Technical Theater Supervisor (Technical Director) position ranges from $4,652 to $5,655. Included in the position's benefit package are Tracy's Flexible Benefit Plan, 13 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, the PERS retirement plan, and a City-paid Employee Assistance Program.
