Tracy Cultural Arts Seeks Parent to Serve on Arts Education Committee
Tracy, Calif. - The City of Tracy Cultural Arts Division is seeking a Tracy parent to serve on its Arts Education Advisory Committee from July 2007 through August 2008.
The Committee will evaluate proposed curriculum for the Arts Education Program as well as perspective Contract Instructors who will teach at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, opening in September. In addition, they will assist the Arts Education Coordinator in assessing the effectiveness and quality of the Arts Education Program from a community parental and educative perspective. The Committee will meet once each quarter.
Members serving on the Committee represent the academic and creative community. "One position is reserved for a Tracy parent or guardian in order to provide the Committee with a unique citizen's perspective," says Arts Education Coordinator Vanessa Amezquita. "Of course, we're looking for applicants who possess a love of the arts and wish to support the role that the art plays in our children's lives."

About the Arts Education Program: The 37,000 square foot Grand Theatre Center for the Arts is an interdisciplinary arts facility containing two theaters, a fine arts gallery and nine studio classrooms. Its full-time Arts Education Program will provide tiered private and group classes in dance, drama, music and the visual arts. Short-term programs such as seminars, demonstrations and workshops will be offered as well.
